Dr Piers Benn
philosopher; adjunct professor, Fordham University London Centre; author, Freedom of Speech and the Flight from Reason
Piers Benn is a visiting lecturer in philosophy at Heythrop College, University of London, and has held lectureships in philosophy at the universities of Leicester, St. Andrews and Leeds, and in medical ethics & law at Imperial College London. During the 1990s he organised undergraduate seminars in Poland and the former Czechoslovakia, as part of a wider project of rebuilding education there. His interests focus on ethics, philosophy of religion, toleration and philosophy of psychiatry. He has published in non-specialist as well as academic outlets and has made several national radio and TV appearances.
