Dr Piers Benn
visiting lecturer and adjunct professor; author, Freedom of Speech and the Flight from Reason
Piers Benn teaches Philosophical Ethics at Fordham University London Centre and was a Visiting Lecturer at Heythrop College, University of London, from 2013 to 2018. He has held Lectureships in Philosophy at the Universities of St. Andrews and Leeds, and in Medical Ethics & Law at Imperial College London. His interests focus on Ethics, Philosophy of Religion, Toleration and Philosophy of Psychiatry. He has recently published in Quillette and Areo and makes occasional radio and TV appearances, including as a newspaper reviewer for Sky News. He is currently writing a book provisionally titled ‘Intellectual Freedom and Political Polarisation’ for Palgrave Pivot (forthcoming 2020).
