Timo Soini

Timo Soini is a prominent Finnish political figure with over two decades of high-level leadership in both national and European governance. Holding a Master of Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki (1981), he co-founded The Finns Party in 1997 and served as its leader for 20 years until 2017.

During his distinguished public career, Soini served as a member of the Finnish Parliament (2003–2009, 2011–2019) and represented Finland in the European Parliament as an MEP from 2009 to 2011. He reached the highest echelons of Finnish government during the 2010s, serving concurrently as deputy prime minister of Finland (2015–2017) and minister for foreign affairs (2015–2019).
