Sylvie Perez
writer and columnist

Sylvie is a French writer and journalist, who has been living in London since 2011. She is a columnist for L’Incorrect and writes regularly for Causeur.

Her latest book covers the counteroffensive against wokeism (in French, En finir avec le wokisme – Chronique de la contre-offensive anglo-saxonne, Le Cerf, 2023). Her other books include: J’ai envie de tout, Lemieux 2015, a contemporary novel, La Scandaleuse de Périclès, Robert Laffont 2012, a novel set in Pericles’ Athens, Ces années-là,  Fayard 2008, conversations with film director Claude Lelouch, Le fil d’or, Fayard 2007, conversations with actor and director Georges Wilson, member of Jean Vilar’s TNP (Théâtre National Populaire), Un couple infernal : l’écrivain et son éditeur, Bartillat 2006, an essay exploring the relationship between French writers and their publishers (19^th and 20^th century).

She has translated eight Agatha Christie plays into french with playwright Gérald Sibleyras (published at L’œil du Prince).

Sylvie was a member (2004-2007) of the Social Sciences and Humanities Commission at the CNL (Centre National du Livre) under the authority of the Ministry of Culture and Communication.

After graduating at Institut d’Études Politiques (Sciences Po Paris) she started her carrier in journalism at L’Express (1990-1993) and Le Nouvel Economiste (1993-1996). Then joined the public national radio France Inter (1996-2003) before transferring to national radio Europe 1 where she hosted researchers in a weekly archaeology show (2003-2004).
