Susan is co-director of For Women Scotland (FWS), a campaign group formed in response to the Scottish Government’s plans to reform the Gender Recognition Act and dedicated to promoting and strengthening the rights of women and children. Last year, FWS won a landmark case at the Supreme Court against the Scottish Government which protected the legal definition of ‘women’ and, earlier this year, won a third judicial review, which ensured male prisoners were removed from the female estate. Susan contributed two chapters to the Sunday Times bestseller, The Women Who Wouldn’t Wheesht. She is also a director of Beira’s Place, the rape crisis centre established in Edinburgh by JK Rowling.
