Simon Nash
GB News political and environmental commentator; environmentalist; activist and entrepreneur: founder, Green Oil bicycle lubes; chairman, Green Drinks London

Simon Nash is a political and environmental commentator at GB News, chairs Green Drinks London, and is the founder and managing director of Green Oil UK Ltd, the environmentally friendly bicycle lubricant company.

Simon formulated Green Oil in response to the polluting PTFE and petroleum based lubricants used on bikes – inventing the first 100% biodegradable bicycle lubricant. Simon launched the UK’s first 100-per-cent recycled plastic bottle within any industry in 2010, now utilizing Prevented Ocean Plastic. Simon successfully lobbied for the plastic tax, which will soon make recycled content mandatory in plastic bottles for closed loop recycling.

Simon is a liberal Christian and runs Green Drinks London, a free-speech event for people interested in green issues and to meet other environmentalists.

A former Green Party member, Simon studied philosophy and politics at Southampton University focusing on ethics, religion and critical thinking. Later, he gained a masters degree in strategic entrepreneurship, with a focus on business ethics. At university, he founded Green Action (now Campus Collective) in response to the university’s removal of paper recycling bins and his activism has continued since.

Simon Nash has spoken on BBC Breakfast News, at Greenwich University, Southampton University, on LBC Radio, at Friends of the Earth and BBC World News on environment and business. Simon is proudly a member of the Free Speech Union, Amnesty International and supports Sustrans and the London Cycling Campaign for a greener future with an open, kind, tolerant free speech approach to environmentalism. And like most real environmentalists, Simon is an advocate for both renewable energy and nuclear power.

Simon can be found at @SimonFMNash across social media and www.Green-Oil.net, and weekly on GB News channel 236.
