Simon McKeon
archivist; 20 years experience of working in local authority culture departments

Simon McKeon trained as an archivist at UCL and believes passionately in caring for and making accessible the nation’s rich archive collections. During his 20 years working in local authority culture departments he has managed both archive and museum services, worked as an adviser on a council’s bid for the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture programme, and has led many ‘sense of place’ projects in London.

Simon has contributed to several books, TV programmes and exhibitions on different aspects of London’s history, as well as lecturing on archives at universities and schools. When not at work, Simon can be found supporting Queens Park Rangers.
