Sian Astley
Reform UK councillor for Baguley, Wythenshawe; Reform UK council lead, Manchester City Council; landlord and property renovation specialist

Sian Astley has been immersed in property, renovation and design for 30 years, self-managing PRS rentals, hosting property TV shows and project managing builds across the UK. Blackburn born, she studied Law in the early 90s, leaving Manchester University in a recession, homeless, unemployed but determined to succeed. She built her business from scratch, navigating it through the banking crash and global pandemic in a city now acclaimed for growth.

Growing that property business since ‘96 within ‘Manchesterism’ results in a deep knowledge of reality, with her own story of success evident, but an ability to challenge whether success has been available to all. She disputes whether growth was equitable, fair and spread across all Burnham’s GMCA postcodes. A Labour voter nationally, Sian occasionally voted LibDem locally to keep accountability alive in a red stronghold. She was a Brexit voter, ‘cancelled’ for that view in her predominantly Remain voting area.

Increasingly disillusioned with politics and the failure of successive governments to tackle the housing crisis, immigration, policing, energy costs and the spiralling cost of living, Sian joined Reform UK in 2024 and stood in Wythenshawe in 2026. She won a strong majority in a ward held by Labour for 50 years and stood as the Reform GM Mayoral Candidate in July 2026.
