Sallamari Annala
chairwoman; LHB-liitto ry

Sallamari Annala is the chairwoman of LHB-Liitto, a Finnish non-govermental organization dedicated to lesbians, gays and bisexuals. She is also the representative member of Finland for LGB International’s committee. With over ten years of experience in grass roots and social media activism she has seen both sides of the argument.

In her early twenties she became an intersectional feminist and woke. Being involved in woke activism she witnessed the toxicity, bullying and power battle dynamics, and decided to take her distance from the movement. Finally she peaked from the woke movement after reading the citizens law initiative meant to improve trans rights and seeing the law initiative had blatant incongruities and discrepancies. The law change effectively worsened the human rights status of trans people, sexual minorities and women in Finland.

Sallamari has been the youth minister of education for 4H, has volunteered in several other non-governmental organizations and charities, being part of organizing community events and now she is serving her third term as the chairwoman for LHB-Liitto. She has a background in university studies in art and is a university student of information systems and holds the title of Artesan.
