Oliver Walsh
co-founder, Critical Edge Media

Oliver Walsh is one of two co-founders of Critical Edge, a media start-up comprising a podcast, a publication, and a book club. Critical Edge is a community and youth-led project, about learning how to think, not what to think. Ollie and Lukas have interviewed a huge range of academics, politicians, and influential people – from Alastair Campbell, Peter Mandelson and the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, to thinkers such as Peter Singer and Steven Pinker.

In an age of short-form content and partisan journalism, Ollie and his co-host Lukas are passionate about reaching young people where they’re at. That means behaving like influencers.

Oliver is Franco-English: he primarily grew up in the UK, and now lives in France. He attended Oxford University, studying Philosophy and French Literature, finishing top of his cohort. He has just started a Masters at HEC Paris, hoping to join its start-up incubator next year.
