Lord Darren Mott
Conservative peer; member of the Lords Public Services Committee

Darren Mott is a life-peer and a member of the Lords Select Committee on Public Services. He is a veteran Conservative strategist with over 30 years’ experience at the heart of British politics and has overseen candidate selection and national campaigns at the highest level, including playing a central role in delivering the 2019 general election victory

In November 2022, he stood down as chief executive of the Conservative Party, having worked for the party for more than 30 years. He started as an apprentice, served six prime ministers and worked on eight General Election campaigns. On two occasions he was director of campaigning and attended political Cabinet.

Lord Mott was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for political service. He was created Baron Mott, of Chatteris in the County of Cambridgeshire, in June 2023.

He is a member of the Conservative Foundation board and a mentor with the Patchwork Foundation, which promotes, encourages and supports the active participation of young people from disadvantaged and minority communities in British democracy. He is patron of the Loomba Foundation, caring for widows around the World.
