Jamie Jenkins is an award-winning statistician, data journalist and political commentator who specialises in explaining the numbers behind Britain’s biggest political, economic and social debates.

He previously served as head of health analysis and head of labour market statistics at the Office for National Statistics. He has also worked across numerous other government departments in Whitehall, working closely with policymakers and ministers.

Jamie is the founder and editor of Stat of the Nation, where he examines official statistics, challenges misleading political narratives and translates complex data into clear, accessible analysis. His work covers the economy, employment, public spending, migration, health and public services, with a focus on separating evidence from political spin.
