Gabrielle Grant
communications, development and partnership specialist; development manager, Portrait Theatre

Gabrielle Grant is a communications, development and partnership specialist with a passion for bringing people together around ideas that matter. As development manager for Portrait Theatre, she works across the arts, education and nonprofit sectors to build partnerships, grow audiences and create opportunities for theatre to have a wider social impact.
She is particularly passionate about verbatim and documentary theatre and its power to give people a voice, challenge assumptions and start conversations. At Portrait Theatre, she has led the development and outreach of Generation FOMO, connecting the production with schools, young people, communities and partners across Kent and beyond.
Gabrielle is also co-founder and director of Whitstable Unplugged, a grassroots movement working to create a healthier relationship between children, technology and the world around them. Through school partnerships, community campaigns, events and the Canterbury Schools’ Pledge on Smartphones and Smart Devices, she brings together parents, educators, young people and local organisations to put childhood, connection and wellbeing back at the heart of the conversation.
Her work with Whitstable Unplugged and Portrait Theatre has naturally converged through Generation FOMO — using the power of young people’s own voices to spark conversations about growing up in a constantly connected world, and to turn those conversations into action.
