Dr Dominic Standish
lecturer; author, Venice in Environmental Peril? Myth and reality
Dr Dominic Standish is author of Venice in Environmental Peril? Myth and reality (2012). He wrote monthly for the Italy Daily section of the International Herald Tribune for two years and has written frequent features for the Italian news agency ANSA. Dominic has been published in the Wall Street Journal, The Economist’s ‘European Voice’, EU Reporter, The Sunday Times and the Guardian (UK), the Architect’s Journal (UK), Conscience (USA), Novo (Germany), Energy and Environment (UK), International Business Times, Prospect Magazine (UK) and is a frequent contributor to the online magazine spiked. He has had chapters published in four books. In December 2012, Dominic was interviewed by the International New York Times, which published his comments. His remarks have been broadcast on numerous TV and radio programmes, including The Documentary on BBC World Service and on Sky News.
Dominic holds a PhD in the sociology of risk from the University of Kent and lectures for the University of Iowa (USA).
