founder and principal, East London Science School
David is the founder and principal of the East London Science School, which opened in September 2013. Now entering its fifth year, the school aims to give all pupils a rigorous academic education irrespective of their background or ability. The school was established to allow pupils from East London the chance to aspire to study the sciences and engineering at University. Despite being a science school, pupils are taught a broad range of subjects such as Latin, ethics and the arts upholding the value of a liberal education for every child. This year will see the first cohort sit their GCSEs.
David is an ardent proponent of a knowledge-led curriculum and has been a leading member of the Knowledge Network a small group of schools committed to promoting these ideas.
