Connie Shaw
external affairs officer, The Free Speech Union; contributor, GB News

Connie Shaw is the external affairs officer at The Free Speech Union (FSU) and a contributor at GB News. She appears on TV and radio, promoting the FSU’s campaigns and cases, and contributes to GB News’ digital output focusing on women’s rights, free speech at universities and multiculturalism.
Connie rose to prominence after she was permanently removed from her committee position at Leeds Student Radio due to her gender critical views. The University of Leeds also launched disciplinary action against her, accusing her of harassing a member of staff as a result of her expressing her gender critical views. The Free Speech Union supported her with a legal defence when the case was escalated with the threat of expulsion, and she was subsequently found not guilty and could complete her philosophy degree.
