Charlie Webber
student in English Literature, History and Drama

Charlie Webber is an 18-year-old with a passion for history, literature and the ideas that shape society. Having studied History, English Literature and Drama at A level, he enjoys exploring how individuals, culture and institutions influence the world around us. Among the works that have particularly resonated with him is To Kill a Mockingbird, which he studied as part of his English Literature course and has since revisited through both the film adaptation and the recent stage production.
Outside academia, Charlie is a member of the England Lambs rugby programme and enjoys balancing sport with an active social life, theatre, debate and cultural interests. Following the loss of his brother, Barnaby Webber, in the Nottingham attacks of 2023, Charlie has faced extraordinary challenges with resilience and maturity. He is passionate about ensuring that adversity does not define the future, and about engaging thoughtfully with questions of justice, community and hope.
