Ann Furedi has been CEO of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) since 2003. Before then she was director of policy and press for the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, the UK’s regulator of embryo research and assisted conception. BPAS provides about 70,000 abortions a year and advocates for the decriminalisation of abortion. Ann has written extensively in defence of women’s autonomy of reproductive choice.
She is a board member of the American research charity, IBIS Reproductive Health.
