Professor Alice Sullivan
professor of sociology, UCL Social Research Institute

Alice Sullivan is professor of Sociology at the UCL Social Research Institute. Her background is in quantitative analysis of social and educational inequalities.  She is an expert on data collection and academic freedom, and led the independent Sullivan Review of Data, Statistics and Research on Sex and Gender. Her publications include Sex and Gender: A Contemporary Reader and her forthcoming book Sex, Lies and Statistics: Why we need evidence-based policy on sex and gender, which will be out in November 2026.
