Jonathan Hinder is the Labour MP for Pendle and Clitheroe, in Lancashire. A former Metropolitan Police inspector, he spent a decade in policing, before leaving in 2022 to pursue politics.

Since his election in 2024, Jonathan has become one of Labour’s most outspoken voices. As a leading member of the Blue Labour group of MPs, he makes the case for a patriotic, socialist politics, grounded in place and meaningful work. He has spoken bluntly about the need for Labour to move away from divisive identity politics, and return to its roots as the party of the working class.
