John O’Brien heads communications at Freedom & Sovereignty Initiative Europe (FSI Europe), a new Brussels-based think tank arguing for a Europe of sovereign nation states. He previously held the same role at MCC Brussels, where he led media strategy, podcasts and public debate on EU overreach, free speech and national democracy. Across his career he has argued that freedom of thought, open debate and national self government are not optional extras but the conditions of a healthy democracy.
