Martin Loat OBE
communications expert, business mentor, social campaigner

After graduating with a degree in philosophy in the 80’s, Martin started his career in business journalism (including Campaign and the Guardian).

He later launched and built up a UK top ten tech PR agency. He sold this in 2023, when it had 50 people working in London and New York and clients including Samsung.

Martin is a proven social action campaigner. He was chairman of the Campaign for Equal Civil Partnerships which helped get the law changed and civil partnerships legalised for heterosexual couples in England & Wales in 2019. He was awarded an OBE in 2023 for this pro bono work.

Now semi-retired, Martin is exploring how AI can improve public discourse and debate and track the changing value systems that account for much of the polarisation in politics and society (overturning the old left/right split).

He is also an advisor and leadership mentor to a number of growing businesses, including AI applications.
