Syd Jeffers is currently a senior lecturer in sociology at the University of East London. Before that, he worked at the University of Leicester and was a research fellow at the School for Advanced Urban Studies at the University of Bristol. His main research interests are related to the politics and theories of race and racialisation. He is a member of the editorial collective of the journal Critical Social Policy. He is also a long-suffering Arsenal season ticket holder and is working on improving his swing, Balboa and collegiate shag dancing techniques.
