professor of politics; University of Surrey; co-author, The European Union: a very short introduction
Simon Usherwood is Professor in Politics at the University of Surrey. His work has long focused on euroscepticism and on UK-EU relations, which has meant a very strong focus in recent years on Brexit, and especially its relationship to the European Union. He has published widely, for both academic and general audiences, including The European Union: A Very Short Introduction to the EU (OUP), as well as popping up on TV, radio and print media regularly to explain stuff. His A Diet of Brussels has the dubious distinction of being the longest-running Brexit-themed podcast anywhere, having begun the day after the 2015 general election: he apologises for giving other people the idea.
