Sandra Vieira Jürgens

FCT – Portugal postdoctoral research fellow at Instituto de História da Arte – IHA, FCSH, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. Teaches and coordinates the Postgraduate Programme in Curatorship at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities [FCSH/NOVA]. Integrates the international program Research Residencies 2015-2016 at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid.
Her research projects cover topics related to artists-curators, practices of exhibition-making, independent spaces, and the study of new settings and new ways of sharing artistic and curatorial practices in the museological space.
Author of several studies on art published in catalogues and collective volumes, she also published Provisional installations: Independence, autonomy, alternative and informality. Artists and exhibitions in Portugal in the twentieth century (2016). She is artistic director of Wrong Wrong and of RAUM: online artist residencies project.
