Ronan is an epidemiologist/public health physician with a background of working in emergency medicine and community child health. He has a variety of roles, including: professor of public health at Swansea University Medical School; honorary consultant with Public Health Wales; director of the National Centre for Population Health and Wellbeing Research; chair of the International Collaborative Effort on Injury Statistics and Methods; and trustee of Play Wales. He is involved in a wide range of research, much of it relating to the wellbeing of children, the impact of healthy and adverse exposures and the effectiveness of interventions and policies.
