Professor Anna Gupta is a social work academic and registered social worker. Her work focuses on poverty and child protection, work with Black and minority ethnic children and families, social work in the family courts and adoption from care. Together with Professor Brid Featherstone she completed a study on the role of the social worker in adoption with a focus on ethics and human rights (BASW, 2018). She is a co-author of the recent publication, Protecting Children: A social model (Policy Press, 2018) and co-editor on a forthcoming book Unaccompanied Young Migrants: Identity, Care and Justice (Policy Press, 2019).
