At IPPR, Laurie’s work covers industrial strategy, political economy, digital transport and the Anthropocene. He is also assistant editor of Progressive Review, IPPR’s journal of ideas. Prior to joining IPPR, Laurie worked for Lord Skidelsky in the House of Lords, where he focused on post-crash macroeconomic policy, and at the Institute for New Economic Thinking at Oxford University and as a strategist for Purpose. Outside of IPPR, he founded Bring Back the NHS, which campaigns on the National Health Service, and Discourse, an organisation that holds public debates on key political issues, seeking to widen perspectives through increasing participation, both online and off.
