Professor Julian Petley has written widely about censorship and other forms of media regulation, and gave evidence to the Leveson Inquiry. He is a member of the editorial board of the British Journalism Review and of the advisory board of Index on Censorship, as well as being a principal editor of the Journal of British Cinema and Television. He has a particular interest in questions of media representation, and his first book was on the cinema of the Third Reich.
