Joel Mills is senior programme manager for music at British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations. Joel devises, develops and oversees a wide range of programme of international music and arts projects, collaborations and commissions. She spent several months in South Africa, a temporary stint as director arts, sub-Saharan Africa, now works extensively on programmes in East Asia, including Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam. She has developed major programme strands including film and music, and Convergence, which explores art, music and technology.
Joel has worked in music and arts for over 20 years with a background that straddles both the commercial and funded music sector, managing artists, programming a venue, and working with many independent music festivals and major promoters.
