Jess Staufenberg is an education journalist. She is the features reporter for Schools Week and FE Week and reports in a freelance capacity for the Guardian and the BBC. Her investigative work on special educational needs funding, failing private schools, home education, off-rolling and academy trust issues has generated national coverage. Jess is also commissioning editor at Private School Policy Reform, a platform for debate on the UK private schools sector.
In 2018 she was shortlisted in the British Journalism awards for specialist media, and came runner-up for most promising newcomer in the 2017 CIPR education journalism awards.
