Jakob Parby is a specialist in urban history, particularly the history of Copenhagen 1660-1900. He has been responsible for research, exhibitions and other kinds of dissemination in and outside the museum since 2004, often in collaboration with colleagues and citizens. Among Jakob’s projects are the Wall/Væggen (2010-2016), Becoming a Copenhagener (2010-2015) and Søren Kierkegaard: Objects of Love (2013-15).
Jakob is currently project leader of the research project Urban Encounters which deals with networks and mobility in Scandinavian urbanisation 1000-1700, and also the mobile museum The Past Exposed. He will be curator of exhibitions at the new Museum of Copenhagen which will open in summer 2019.
