His favourite thinker is Alexis de Tocqueville, but has also studied, amongst others, Aristotle, Hobbes, Mill, and Arendt.

Jack has been a regular attendee of the Battle of Ideas festival since 2014. He is an alumni of Debating Matters, the boi charity’s sixth-form debating competition, where he has been a competitor and then volunteer organiser.  He has also participated twice at the boi’s three-day summer school, Living Freedom.

Jack describes himself as a liberal, a democrat, and anything but a Liberal Democrat. He is also a spurs fan.
