student, Queen Mary University of London
Holly is currently studying politics at Queen Mary, University of London and has been a convenor for this years Battle of Ideas. Her interest in the sociological side of politics is reflected in her upcoming dissertation topic, Barack Obama to Donald Trump: how America went from their first black president to the man who started the birther movement against him (she’s still working on a concise title).
She has worked with the Academy of Ideas as a summer intern and participated in Riddlesdown Collegiate’s Battle of Ideas, speaking on the panel ‘The new populism: threat or opportunity’ as well as judging the student debates.
With a keen interest in the impact identity has had on politics and wider society, she enjoys studying post-racial liberalism, as well as reading the works of women against feminism.
