astrophysics student, University of Glasgow
Harriet Bishop is a full-time student at The University of Glasgow, studying physics with astrophysics. She has volunteered in previous years at the boi as well as having previously taken part in the Debating Matters competition while at school.
Last year Harriet completed a year in industry with EDT at GILL Instruments Ltd and has since been promoting the scheme at various University open days across the country. The EDT provides placements in STEM subjects which equip young people with practical experience required for the increasingly competitive graduate job market.
Having recently been through the process of choosing her options, Harriet has become vocal about the responsibility of schools to provide more information regarding apprenticeships and alternative options to higher education.
