Ginny Hume
lead commissioner of care for older people, Lambeth Council

Ginny Hume has spent 20 years working in, running and commissioning services for older people in Inner London local authorities. She first took an interim job in what was then called an ‘old people’s home’ in 1989, after resigning in disillusionment from a UN-related overseas agency. She is now lead commissioner of care for older people in a central London council. Ginny is also a writer who, during a career break to bring up two daughters, wrote for publications from The Times, Telegraph, Daily Express and Evening Standard to Mother and Baby, Parent and the Readers Digest.
