Georgina Newcombe
English literature and philosophy student, Durham University; athlete and footballer; editorial team, The Bubble; Living Freedom alumnus

Georgina studies English Literature and Philosophy at Durham University and is on the editorial team of a student magazine called The Bubble. She contributes primarily sports-themed pieces and has previously written on the history of women’s football and fairness in sport, in relation to the performance enhancing drugs debate. Georgina has also written opinion pieces for the student newspaper Palatinate on the over-policing of language and compulsory consent classes in universities. She interned at the Academy of Ideas last summer and attended the Living Freedom School in 2018 and 2019. Having competed in Track and Field athletics at a local and regional level for over eight years, she switched to Football two years ago and currently plays for Durham University.
