associate director and change maker, Attenborough Arts Centre, University of Leicester
G Sian – the G stands for Gurdeep – is an artist first and foremost. Beyond this he is a producer, director and cultural animateur. In September 2016 he was awarded Arts Council Funding through the first ChangeMakers programme, which aims to address the lack of diversity in senior leadership in the arts.
He is currently developing the ‘DeStress Fest’ a festival which will run from January to March 2018 and is focused upon the relationship of body and mind through the lens and nexus of art. The themes of the festival are mental health, neurodiversity, body image and stress alleviation. DeStress Fest will take place at Attenborough Arts Centre, in the University of Leicester and addresses the stress and anxieties of students and the wider public, giving them opportunities to reflect and be reflected.
