Dr Rosemary Rizq
psychologist & psychotherapist
Rosemary Rizq is a chartered psychologist, an HCPC-registered counselling psychologist and a UKCP-accredited psychoanalytic psychotherapist. She is principal lecturer in counselling psychology at the University of Roehampton and has worked in NHS mental health services for over 20 years, most recently at Forest House Psychotherapy Service in North-East London. She also has a part-time private practice in West London.
Rosemary has a particular interest in organizational dynamics and how the incursion of the state into the consulting room impacts on clinical practice. She is also interested in how recent changes within NHS mental health services affect both patients and staff. She contributes regularly to the peer reviewed and professional psychotherapy literature and is currently working on a book, co-edited with Catherine Jackson, titled The Industrialisation of Care, critiquing the government’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme.
