Dr Jennifer Cunningham
recently retired community paediatrician; supporter NO2NP Campaign
Dr Jennifer Cunningham was a community paediatrician in Glasgow for 33 years, specialising in neurodisability and a leading clinician in the South autism diagnostic service. She did a biochemistry degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg before studying medicine. Jennifer was the first woman to be an SRC president at a South African university. She became an exile in the UK in the early 1980s, during one of the darkest periods for opponents of the Apartheid regime. She is the author of The End of Apartheid? – South Africa in the 1990s (Junius Publications, 1990).
Jennifer is a supporter of the NO2NP campaign against the SNP government’s Named Person legislation, and a regular platform speaker at its country-wide campaign meetings.
