Dr Jan Macvarish

Jan is a sociologist whose work focuses on the study of interpersonal relationships, parenting, family life, health, sex and intimacy. She is the author of the book Neuroparenting: the expert invasion of family life (Palgrave Macmillan 2016) and co-author of Parenting Culture Studies (Palgrave Macmillan 2014). She has published research on family policy, child siblings in the care system, contemporary singleness, teenage pregnancy and parenthood, the regulation of fertility treatment and abortion, and the use and abuse of neuroscience.
