Bijan Omrani is an historian and classicist. He is the author of a number of books on various subjects including Afghanistan, the silk road and ancient history; his most recent book, published this year, is Caesar’s Footprints: Journeys to Roman Gaul. He has taught classics at a number of schools including Eton, Westminster and Winchester. He has written and reviewed for a number of publications, including the Spectator and Literary Review. He is the editor of the Asian Affairs Journal, and is also a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Asiatic Society.
