Anne McElvoy writes on political and international affairs for the Economist and runs Economist Radio, the company’s audio arm. She is a former foreign correspondent and columnist, beginning her career at the Times before becoming Deputy Editor of the Spectator and Political Columnist of the Daily Telegraph. She was also Executive Editor of the London Evening Standard and the newspaper’s political columnist before joining the Economist in January 2011. She is a host of BBC Radio 3’s Free Thinking and numerous political documentaries, and is a regular panelist on the Moral Maze (BBC Radio 4).
