Abbie Wightwick is an award-winning journalist with 26 years’ experience in newspapers, including 20 at the Western Mail. As the Western Mail education editor she covers all aspects of education in Wales as well as other issues affecting parents and young people. Her popular weekly column in the Western Mail covers a broad range of topics and she also writes leaders for the paper.

Abbie is a parent of three teenagers and has recently stepped down as treasurer for one of Wales’s largest high schools, Stanwell in Penarth.
