Aaqil Ahmed is the former head of religion at both Channel 4 and the BBC. He has been involved with television programmes that have won numerous awards from BAFTA, Emmy to Royal Television Society, as well as Grierson and Oscar nominations.
Aaqil is professor of media at the University of Bolton and a non-executive director at the Advertising Standards Authority and OFCOM. He is a published writer, speaker and leader in media, diversity, religion, demographics and culture. His company, Aaqil Ahmed Media Consultancy, specialises in television, digital media production and communications as well as religion and diversity strategy and training.
