Saturday 28 October, 13:3015:30, Cinema 2Festival Attractions

To mark the centenary of October 1917, this new film, receiving its first public screening here, explains the significance of the Russian Revolution. Interwoven with archive, one of humanity’s greatest experiments in social change is brought to life. Shattering myths along the way, the film explores the context, causes and consequences of 10 days that shook the world and went on to define politics and international relations through the rest of the twentieth century.

Crowdfunded and crowd-filmed by the charity WORLDwrite and a crew of volunteer citizen TV-makers, this documentary challenges ahistorical and mythmaking approaches to this landmark event in human history.

Following the film, there will be a Q&A with a panel of contributors to the film.
