Terry James

Terry was headteacher at Queens’ School in Bushey for 16 years until August. Queens’ is a large 11-18 comprehensive school. During his 22 years of headship, Terry was involved in a great deal of ‘school to school support’ across Hertfordshire and beyond, mentoring new heads and holding acting executive or associate headteacher roles in a number of schools. Terry was also part of the 2012 London Olympics education team. Terry is married, (his wife is also a headteacher) and has two grown up children. Since his retirement from his headteacher role at Queens’ he is now concentrating on advisory and support work both in individual schools, and across several local authorities and on behalf of the DfE.
