![]() | Richard Reynolds is a paralegal working on the Baha Mousa and Al Sweady Public Inquiries regarding alleged human rights abuses during the British occupation of Iraq and an aspiring barrister. Having worked before and during university on the Times Higher Education and Times Education Supplement, Richard graduated from UEA with a BA in philosophy, politics and economics in 09 and a graduate diploma in law in 2010. He returned to work with the Times Higher Education in the summer of 2010 and lead their research effort for the World University Rankings until early 2011. While a student, he was the founder and head of the student wing of the Academics For Academic Freedom campaign group. A passionate campaigner for liberties, he successfully overturned the NUS’ “no platform” policy at UEA in 2007 which kicked off a spate of referenda on the issue around the country – most of which were successful. Further, he held a range of roles in his students union including chair of the council, and president of the newspaper, Concrete. In 2005 he won the best individual award at the Institute of Ideas and Pfizer Debating Matters national final, after which he took up an (expenses only) internship at the Institute of Ideas. |
