Luke Kennard

Luke Kennard is researching the transatlantic tendencies of the prose poem since 1973 and working on his third collection of poetry.

Luke Kennard is a writer, critic and PhD student at the University of Exeter. He won an Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors in 2005 and published his first collection of prose poems The Solex Brothers with Stride Books that same year. His second collection, The Harbour Beyond the Movie, was published by Salt Books in 2007 and made him the youngest poet ever to be shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection. The Solex Brothers has since been reissued by Salt in a special edition with much needed explanatory notes. He regularly collaborates on theatrical work and has had two plays performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He is currently working on his first novel and ignoring bitchy poetry message boards.
