Simon Knight

Simon manages a team of youth work staff for a Scottish local authority. He is a Director of Generation Youth Issues and on the Board of Play Scotland. Currently, he is also studying for a PhD in Community Education at the University of Strathclyde- the subject being focussed on how past childhood experiences contributed to emerging selfhood in young people.

In August this year Simon organised a charity swim between Islay and Jura in aid of the RNLI - all swimmers survived.

In what little spare time remains, Simon chases his 5yr old son and 20 month old daughter about and plays football averagely.

View: 'Turn That Racket Off'

"It alerts me to new areas of debate, and gives thought-provoking new angles on topics I thought I already knew well. Altogether it's a wonderful intellectual tonic, which cheers up the dog days of November."
