He has had posts in Moscow, Beijing, Geneva, Rome, Seville, Berlin, been private secretary to the Foreign Minister and a trade negotiator. Responsible for Swedish Development assistance to Asia, humanitarian and emergency aid and multilateral cooperation through the UN, the World Bank and the Regional Banks. Two years career as opera singer (tenor). Swedish Commissionar General at the EXPO 92. Head of Cultural Department, MFA. In 2001 founder and from 2002 Secretary General of the ECP, the only pan-European forum and think tank for cultural personalites from all sectors of art. Board member of several NGOs. Author of more than 20 books on various International topics, the latest on Sweden Promotion, Food production, The political role of Football, Germany and on Democracy. Resident in Berlin and Stockholm. Married to German opera singer Doris Soffel. Two children, one granddaughter. His book Ett bättre liv på jorden (A better life on Earth) is to be published in October 2011. |
